The Knockarounds - The Loner

The Knockarounds are an indie band out of Los Angeles on their own label, BiteSize Records. They are a true modern band trying to make it big through viral media outlets such as YouTube. They lean on their past work as independent filmmakers to create innovative videos for their music. They have a great channel on YouTube called KnockaroundsTV.

Currently they are 2 episodes into a Sci-Fi Fantasy Rock Opera called "Lost in Cyperspace". In creating Lost in Cyberspace, they are both embracing, commenting on and poking fun at the current state of the music industry where new bands must compete for "adds" on MySpace and "views" on YouTube.

In a "meet the band" video, singer Ro Sahebi comments (paraphrased) that sites like YouTube and MySapce have levelled the playing field for new bands giving them a chance to compete with big established bands.

Here is the first single Loner from their first EP "The Hurt Stays" released in 2007:

Here is Lost In Cyberspace Episode 2 - "Hello World". (As a programmer, I find great humour in the title "Hello World". Geeks will know what I'm talking about):
